During the Polish Presidency at the Council of the European Union,
the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs
of Parliaments of the European Union was held
on 2-4 October 2011 in the Polish Parliament in Warsaw. Invenire was
selected for the job following a very
demanding public tender. The COSAC conference is arguably the
largest undertaking in Polish conference interpreting to date. The
two-day conference was interpreted simultaneously into 23 official
EU languages by 50 interpreters, half of them
not based in Poland; 400 language pair combinations were enabled.
We installed 22 booths, including two three-interpreter booths
for key languages, 120 multi-phones, 500
digital receivers, eighteen 46" LCD screens and directional cameras.
Invenire provided a comprehensive service,
from interpreter team to equipment and
shipment in a dedicated long vehicle. The event was a huge and
undoubted challenge in terms of interpretation, conference
technology and logistics. Our Project Management had to work with
great precision to coordinate all the various aspects: contract
interpreters, book their air tickets and accommodation, ensure
meticulous information flow, assemble the appropriate equipment base
- with back-ups, manage the team of conference technicians and
handle financial settlements during and after the conference. At
this high-level event, our team had to ensure that all service staff
followed diplomatic protocol.
